Hiroshima University held an international event, "ASIAN SATURDAY," on March 21, 2026, at the Phoenix International Center MIRAI CREA.
This "SATURDAY" series, which consists of four international exchange events in a year, was designed to foster community building among international citizens and cross-cultural exchange. By bringing together international students and residents of Higashi-Hiroshima from diverse backgrounds, the event aims to serve as a new platform for promoting internationalization within the city.

ASIAN SATURDAY, the third event of the series in 2025, was held under the theme of Asia.
International students from Asian countries and regions (China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Thailand, Vietnam) hosted booths to introduce the history and culture of their home countries. They also engaged the audience with stage performances featuring the languages, festivals, food, and so on. Aside from that, performance of "Erhu -a Chinese musical instrument-" by the members of the Niko Ongakuin brought great excitement to the venue. Higashi-Hiroshima City also set up a booth, providing disaster prevention information to citizens and participants.
In the pleasantly warm spring weather, the event welcomed about 107 participants, including local residents of Higashi-Hiroshima and students from Hiroshima University. Participants enjoyed interacting with international students and deepened their understanding of the Asian countries and regions. We plan to hold this international exchange series in the next academic year.
